- Report for the Benzinga Pro Newsdesk and work alongside the legendary “Benzinga Charlie” as a critical staffer in our high-value subscription service.
- Add context and perspective to relevant news items impacting stocks and currencies
- Find news no one else knows how to find
- Make Benzinga Pro THE platform for the most timely and accurate information moving stocks
Duties:
- Broadcast breaking news developments related to publicly traded stocks, economics, politics, social media and market movements in real-time to a sophisticated audience of investors and traders
- Analyze press releases, SEC filings, social media, trader communities, other publications
- Monitor and build multiple outside data sources to gather news as fast as possible
- Uncover, analyze and report why different stocks and currencies may be volatile
- Monitor stock and FX markets for trading patterns, outsized movements and potential trading opportunities
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in a financial media role, preferably at a newswire service
- Knowledge of financial markets, stock markets, global events, economic trends a must
- Knowledge of foreign exchange trading, equities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Benzinga Pro and competitor media
- Ability to work at break-neck pace for long stretches of time
- A hunger for uncovering and breaking news before the market
- Excellent typing skills (>70 WPM)
