Benzinga was founded in order to democratize financial information and make investing more accessible, and we are specifically looking for an intern to join our WIIM (Why It Is Moving) team to help build our vision.

As a member of the Benzinga editorial team, you’ll enhance your writing and editorial skills, financial knowledge and stay up to date on current events. In this internship, you will add context and perspective to relevant news items impacting stocks and help Benzinga become the main source for understanding why a stock is moving on a given day. This is a paid internship opportunity.


Daily Responsibilities:

  • Look for stocks moving significantly and identify reasons for the movement.
  • Monitor trending tickers via proprietary data, social media, etc.
  • Write multiple movers (WIIM) articles for Benzinga.com.
  • Help promote Benzinga.com content via social channels.


Qualifications:

  • Clear and concise journalistic writing style (formal experience as a published writer and knowledge of AP Style is strongly preferred).
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment, ability to complete tasks in a timely manner on deadline.
  • Investing experience or general knowledge of financial markets is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly research a trending topic/news item using appropriate sources.
  • Familiarity with corporate press releases is preferred.
  • Presence on social media and the ability to share content to generate engagement is preferred.


Location & Schedule

  • Location: Remote opportunity (Benzinga HQ is in Detroit, Michigan).
  • Schedule: (We’re hiring at least two team members for this position)
    • One team member will work three hours per day, five days a week during stock market hours (M-F, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. ET)
    • Another team member will work approximately three-and-a-half hours per day M-Th roughly 2:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. ET
  • Term: Internship will span a minimum of six months, full academic year is strongly preferred. Interns have the potential to pursue a full-time position.
