Position Overview

Benzinga is seeking an IT Manager Intern to assist with day-to-day IT operations, providing technical support, system administration, and process optimization. The selected candidate will initially train under our IT Manager, gaining hands-on experience in Google Admin, Slack Admin, MS365, network troubleshooting, and IT security best practices.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tech-savvy, highly organized individual interested in gaining practical IT experience within a fast-paced media and fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Support & User Access Management

  • Assist in managing user access across Google Admin, Slack, MS365, and other company platforms.
  • Handle account creation, role updates, and permission audits for employees and contractors.
  • Support password management, MFA enforcement, and system access compliance.
  • Troubleshoot basic IT issues, such as login problems, connectivity issues, and device setups.

2. IT Infrastructure & Office Technology Support

  • Help maintain and troubleshoot office internet, VPNs, and hardware setups.
  • Assist in managing network configurations and security protocols.
  • Ensure smooth operation of office equipment (printers, routers, video conferencing tools, etc.).
  • Provide on-site IT support as needed, in coordination with remote teams.

3. IT Process Optimization & Documentation

  • Work with IT Manager to streamline IT workflows and optimize processes.
  • Develop internal documentation and SOPs for common IT requests and troubleshooting guides.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, tracking devices, software licenses, and usage metrics.

4. Training & Transition to Independent Reporting

  • Learn IT administration and gradually take over routine IT responsibilities.
  • Train new employees on IT policies, security best practices, and software usage.
  • Work toward becoming the primary IT point of contact for the Technology Team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Basic IT knowledge, with a willingness to learn system administration.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot common IT issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail—critical for access management and security.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently after training.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred (Not Required, But a Plus):

  • Experience with IT security protocols (MFA, VPN, access control).
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting and hardware support.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems or IT help desk platforms.
  • Background in computer science, IT, cybersecurity, or related fields.
